Black Girls Break Bread Citywide dinner for Chicago colleges & universities @ Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel
Oct 7 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

On Saturday, October 7, 2017, Black Girls Break Bread, Inc. will host their inaugural Chicago citywide Black Girls Break Bread dinner for colleges and universities titled Unveiling Our Voice in celebration of Black women who are some of the most inspiring creators, thought leaders and influencers of our future. It is the first ever dinner of its kind to be staged at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, in downtown Chicago. On October 7th, Black Girls Break Bread will illuminate the city by providing a venue for celebrating the contributions of esteemed faculty, staff and students from colleges and universities in the Chicagoland area.

Black Girls Break Bread has prepared for a one of a kind event to promote unity, create a sense of community for black women across the nation and most importantly provide an opportunity to celebrate and honor some of our nation’s greatest contributors on both a local and national stage.

Black Girls Break Bread is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by Jessica Davenport-Williams, Jazzy Davenport and Khadija Warfield in an effort to uplift, empower and inspire Black women of all ages through the creation of safe spaces for engagement and intellectual discourse. We allow black women to come together to break bread in the literal and spiritual sense of sharing a meal with one another but also receiving from other women what you need at the time. We conduct a moderated discussion while dining and begin to lift the burden of those who walked in feeling weighted. As black women we carry more than what many people may see and for many women they don’t get a chance to unload…especially with women who understand their journey.

Please join us!
